I became a pitcher two years into my softball career mainly because there were no pitchers on my team. When I was thirteen, I was introduced to fastpitch softball, and played for seven years. I did this for about six months and made very good money while doing so. At the age of eleven, I pitched my sale to various business owners around my city, promising them that if they put a coupon for their place of business in my booklet, I would print one hundred copies and personally distribute at least 80% of them by hand. I successfully ran this business for several years, until I started my second business - a coupon distributing business. The service I provided consisted of retrieving orders door to door on foot, buying ingredients at the store, creating a schedule for baking the muffins fresh on Saturday morning, and waking up to make and delivery them. I started my own business when I was nine years old - a muffin delivery service in my neighborhood. My parents are both members of Life Company and have owned their own business since before I was born. I grew up in a very entrepreneurial home. I also took a summer class at Dakota County Technical College, so as a result of these experiences, I have 36 college credits. Unfortunately, that happens too often with almost every parent.I am a 2017 home school high school graduate, and I've done PSEO at the University of Northwestern, St. This doesn’t mean that they don’t have a good relationship it just complicates it. The father probably has to work a lot and doesn’t spend enough time with his son. When the father dances the son to his bed he clings on to his shirt as a sign for him not to leave him. As soon as the father is home the boy is excited to his father which means he probably doesn’t see him often. “ The he waltzed me off to bed still clinging to your shirt” this line gives us an insight to their relationship. In the poem, he writes about how his father would come home drunk and dance him off to bed. My Papa’s Waltz by Theodore Roethke shows the relationship between a little boy and his father. This poem shows how complex their relationship is and how different they are from each other. Her mother missed her chance to leave a mark but for Alvarez, it’s not too late. “ But I refuse with every mark to be like her anonymous” this quote represents how she wants to be known, unlike her mom who wants to remain anonymous. Her mom erases any trace there is of her while Alvarez writes her name on every surface she can. This poem can be interpreted in many ways but to me, it seems like Alvarez wants to leave a legacy behind unlike her mom. In her poem, she writes about how she would write her name on dusty surfaces but her mom would always come and dust her name off. Īn example of a mother relationship daughter is the poem Dusting by Julia Alvarez. There needs to be a good balance of both to maintain a healthy relationship. A parent that is a little too much of those can drive a child away. When a parent is too strict it can make the child feel trapped and feel like they can’t do anything. Not every child like their parents hovering over them every second. A parent can be too strict and overprotective making them a helicopter parent. Parents can try too hard to relate to their child that it might make them distant. It’s the same way for a father and a son. A mother may try too hard to relate with her daughter because she has gone through similar things. A mother-daughter relationship and a father-son relationship are very difficult. No everyone gets along with their parents. Parent-child relationships are complicated.
